We’re here to help your journey be as easy as possible!
Graduation is the completion of the program requirements of your degree, diploma or certificate. Applying for graduation is required. Completing your program requirements alone does not award your degree, diploma, or certificate.
Students are strongly encouraged to begin the steps listed below in the semester BEFORE they intend to complete.
Fall Graduation – December 5th
Spring Graduation – February 27th
Summer Graduation – July 12th
Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates the completion of a degree, diploma or certificate. CCC&TI holds a Commencement Ceremony once a year, in May. Participation is strongly encouraged, but not required.
To participate in the commencement ceremony, students must apply for graduation and order their regalia (cap and gown) by the posted deadlines.
The Spring 2027 Commencement Ceremonies will be held Friday, May 7, 2027, at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center.
Please note: Graduates are permitted to wear only stoles and cords from official CCC&TI clubs and organizations or those purchased through Oak Hall when ordering regalia.
Students should apply for graduation the semester prior to your
degree completion. By applying early, Student Services has time
to review your academic progress and verify that you are on
track to complete your program.
Yes, absolutely! You must have applied for graduation, paid the
graduation application fee and ordered your cap and gown.
Information will be frequently updated on the graduation
webpage. We will send e-mail communication to your CCC&TI
student e-mail account. We will also mail information to the
mailing address we currently have on file.
There are two ways the College knows to expect your
participation in the commencement ceremony. First, indicate on
your graduation application that “Yes”, you will be attending.
Second, order your cap and gown.
You must have a 2.0 program GPA. However, some health
science programs require a higher program GPA for graduation.
Please note that GPAs are not rounded.
You will need to present your CCC&TI student ID. Don’t have one?
Visit the LRC on the Caldwell Campus or Student Services on the
Watauga Campus to get one made.
You may only wear stoles and cords that are issued by a CCC&TI
club or available to purchase through CCC&TI’s Oak Hall system.
Personalized stoles and cords will not be permitted.
Yes, absolutely! We can’t wait to see them.
The number of tickets will depend on how many graduates are
attending the commencement ceremony. The number will be
determined before cap and gown pick up.
You may request extra tickets by filling out this form (2026 CCC&TI Commencement Ceremony Extra Ticket Request). Please know that extra ticket requests are not guaranteed.
It will be very close to the date, typically the week of the
commencement ceremony, before we will know if extra tickets
are available. If you are to receive any, you’ll be notified through
your CCC&TI student e-mail.
Yes, the Fire Marshall uses headcount, not seat count, for events
at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center.
CCC&TI is committed to ensuring commencement is accessible to
graduates and their guests. If you or one of your guests needs an
accommodation for the ceremony, please contact Disability
Services at least two weeks prior, so appropriate
accommodations can be made. Please e-mail
tsigmon@cccti.edu or call (828) 726-2716.
Graduates only. No family members or children are allowed back
stage or on stage before or after the ceremony.
They will be mailed to you to the address on file approximately 4-6
weeks following graduation.
Complete the “Permanent Record Change” student e-form
located in MyCCCTI Portal.
Access to your CCC&TI e-mail address will expire one year after
graduation or one year after the last term in which you were
registered.
