Caldwell Campus: Expanding Capacity for Critical Healthcare Careers

Health Sciences Building: Traffic Update

As we kick off the fall semester, construction on the new Health Sciences Building requires some changes to how you navigate campus. Starting Monday, August 17, please be aware of the following.

New road closure: There is no through-traffic on the roadway in front of the construction site. It is barricaded at both ends.
Pedestrian walkways: A new walkway is being built to safely guide you between lots and buildings.
Southern entrance: You will no longer be able to make a right turn from the southern entrance of campus.
F Building parking: Cars can access the lot in front of the F Building by entering from the front entrance or the side entrance next to Arby’s.
Additional Parking: Our back parking lot is still open to everyone for additional parking and is accessible from any campus entrance.

Security personnel will be stationed around campus during the first two weeks of class to help direct traffic and assist with parking.

The new Health Sciences Building is a transformative investment in the future of healthcare for Caldwell County and the surrounding region. Funded primarily through state budget allocations, this project addresses a critical, immediate need.

North Carolina is facing a severe shortage of skilled healthcare professionals. Studies project that by 2033, our state will experience a deficit of approximately 12,500 Registered Nurses and 5,000 Practical Nurses.

CCC&TI is stepping up to meet this challenge. This new building will significantly expand our training capacity, allowing us to enroll more students in high-demand programs and introduce new offerings in the future. By providing well-trained graduates using the latest technology, we are helping to ensure that every member of our community continues to have access to high-quality healthcare.

The new facility will connect to the third floor of the existing Faye A. Broyhill (H) Building, which will also receive updates for a seamless transition between the two structures.
