Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute’s volleyball team picked up their eighth win of the season with a straight sets victory over Guilford Technical Community College Thursday evening in Hudson.
Caldwell (8-5) won by scores of 25-6, 25-8, and 25-10. The Cobras are also undefeated in their home matches this season with a 3-0 record.
As a team, Caldwell had a .377 hitting percentage on the night. Julie Burleson led the Cobra offensive attack with six kills on six attempts. Lyrical Edwards also had six kills, with Kelsey Plumley and Rebecca Bertoni each collecting four kills.
Of Caldwell’s 24 service aces, Meredith Faw had a team-high nine, Destiny Jordan had five, and Taylor McClure added four.
Caldwell will travel to Martinsville, VA for a tri-match at Patrick & Henry Community College on Saturday. The Cobras will face Region 10 Division-Three foe Patrick & Henry at 11:00AM before taking on Region 7 Division-Two Pellissippi State (TN) at 1:00PM.
