Dream Award Program

CCC&TI Dream Award (Scholars) Program

The Dream Award from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCC&TI) provides free tuition to first-generation sixth graders who demonstrate strong academic achievement, school or community involvement, and the potential for future success. 

Established in 1989, the award encourages students to explore career options, maintain good grades, complete high school, and pursue higher education. 

Recipients are guaranteed tuition for five semesters at CCC&TI upon graduation from high school. In addition covering tuition, the award also covers the cost of books (subject to available funding) and included participating in various student activities. 

Eligibility & Requirements

  • First-generation status: Neither parents has a bachelor’s degree. 
  • Grade level: Currently in sixth grade. 
  • Nomination: Must be nominated by a school counselor, teacher, or principal. 
  • Selection: Selected and recognized early in their seventh-grade year. 
  • Demonstrated potential: Must show academic achievement, civic involvement, and potential for future success. 
  • Location: Must reside in Caldwell or Watauga county.
