Nursing curricula provides knowledge, skills, and strategies to integrate safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment, and to meet individual needs which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential.

Learning Outcomes

Upon Completion Of The Associate Degree Nursing Program, The Graduate Will Upon Licensure, Be Able To Demonstrate:

  • Nursing/Clinical Judgment That Aligns With The Registered Nurse’s (RN) Scope Of Practice By Using Effective Critical Thinking And Decision-Making Skills That Promote Safe, Quality Client Care.
  • Safety By Minimizing The Risk Of Harm To Clients And Providers Through System And Individual Performance, As Indicated By The RN Scope Of Practice.
  • Patient-Centered Care By Providing Caring, Compassionate, And Culturally Sensitive Interactions, As Indicated By The RN Scope Of Practice, Based On A Client’s Individual Holistic Needs, Preferences, And Values.
  • Teamwork And Collaboration Within The RN Scope Of Practice, By Using Open Communication, Mutual Respect, And Shared Decision-Making To Effectively Function Within Interdisciplinary Teams To Achieve Continuity Of Care And Positive Client Outcomes.

Upon completion of the Practical Nursing Education Program, the graduate will upon licensure, be able to demonstrate:

  • Nursing/clinical judgment that aligns with the Practical Nurse’s (PN) scope of practice by using effective critical thinking and decision-making skills when making clinical judgments that promote safe, quality client care.
  • Safety by minimizing the risk factors that could cause injury or harm while promoting quality care and maintaining a secure environment for clients, self, and others of harm to clients and providers through system and individual performance, as indicated by the PN scope of practice
  • Patient-centered care by providing caring, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care, as indicated by the PN scope of practice, based on a client’s physiological, psychological, sociological, spiritual, and cultural needs, preferences, and values.
  • Teamwork and collaboration within the PN scope of practice, by delivering client care in partnership with multidisciplinary members of the health care team, to achieve continuity of care and positive client outcomes.

Course work includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing safe, individualized care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics.

Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended, industrial, and community health care facilities.

CCC&TI offers the following educational opportunities in Nursing:

  • An Associate Degree in Nursing

  • A transition option from Practical Nursing to Associate Degree Nursing

All of the Nursing programs are offered on the Caldwell Campus in Hudson, N.C. and the Watauga Campus in Boone, N.C.

Practical Nursing to Associate Degree Nursing Transition Program

PN Graduates are eligible to apply to the LPN to ADN Transition option that can lead to a Associate Degree in Nursing.

RIBN BSN Program Information

RIBN Logo

RIBN logo is a link for further information. The Hickory RIBN Program is a nursing option where students will enroll at both Lenoir-Rhyne University and CCC&TI.

This program will provide a seamless associate to baccalaureate nursing education for top academic students. The first part of the program will be at the community college campus along with one course per semester at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Upon successful completion of their Associate Degrees in Nursing, students will take their last year online at Lenoir-Rhyne. Admission to the program will be competitive and students will be chosen on the basis of specific academic requirements. Learn more on how to apply.

RIBN is not a fast track to earn a BSN degree.
