Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute volleyball student-athlete Lyrical Edwards has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III First Team All-American, the organization announced Tuesday.

Edwards, a freshman from Valdese, NC and a graduate of Draughn High School, delivered an outstanding season for the Cobras. The outside hitter totaled 336 kills, averaging 2.8 kills per set, and recorded 949 total attacks. Defensively, she added 26 blocks and 252 digs, contributing in every phase of the game. Edwards was responsible for 410 points on the season for Caldwell.

She is one of only thirty student-athletes nationwide to earn Division III All-American honors from the NJCAA.

Edwards played a key role in leading the Cobras to a 22-10 record during the 2025 season. Caldwell finished as Region 10 Division III runners-up and earned an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, where they placed ninth in the nation. She was also named Region 10 Division III First Team All-Region.

Edwards becomes just the third All-American in the history of Caldwell’s volleyball program. She follows Laney Craig (2023), the program’s first-ever All-American, and Kelsey Plumley (2024).
