Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute volleyball student-athlete Gracie McClure was named National Junior College Athletic Association Division Three Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for September 1-7, as announced by the NJCAA on Wednesday afternoon.
McClure, a sophomore from Statesville, NC, totaled 106 digs, averaging 6.6 digs per set while playing four ranked opponents last week at the College of DuPage Invitational in Glen Ellyn, IL.
McClure is the second player in program history to be honored as Defensive Player of the Week by the NJCAA. Former standout Emily Ramirez was named Defensive Player of the Week twice during the 2023 season and once during the 2024 season.
Caldwell, ranked sixth in the latest NJCAA division three volleyball poll, will host Clinton College JV on Thursday night in Hudson at 6:30PM. The Cobras will travel to second ranked Sandhills Community College on Saturday for a match at 11:00AM.
