The Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute Board of Trustees recently recognized longtime member Mr. James E. Sponenberg, III for his years of service to the Board and to the College. Sponenberg closed out his final term as trustee in July and was recognized at the Board’s September meeting. Board Chairman Mr. Jerry Church presented a special award to Sponenberg commemorating his years of service and support of the College.
Sponenberg served a number of terms on the Board beginning in 1995. His first term ended in 2003. He was later reappointed in 2004 and served until 2016. Sponenberg was reappointed for a final term in 2018 which officially concluded in July 2025. Over his 27 years of volunteer service to the Board, Sponenberg has been a member of the Finance Committee, the Curriculum Committee, the Nominating Committee and the Policy and Legislative Committee, which he also chaired over the last several years.
