Recap: Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute’s volleyball swept a tri-match at Rockingham Community College on Saturday afternoon, defeating both Virginia Peninsula Community College and the host Eagles in straight sets.
In their first match of the afternoon, Caldwell outscored Virginia Peninsula 25-11, 25-12, and 25-14. The Cobras followed up that victory by dispatching Rockingham by scores of 25-3, 25-5, 25-2.
For the two matches, sophomore Greenleigh Gleason (Louisburg, NC) led Caldwell with 18 kills followed by freshman Kelsey Plumley (Hickory, NC) with 17. Sophomore Josie Chappell (Rosman, NC) led the team in assists with 26 while freshman Taylor McClure had 20. The Cobras also had 35 serving aces in the two matches combined. Defensively, sophomore Emily Ramirez (West Jefferson, NC) had 22 digs.
With the victories, the Cobras improved their record to 17-3 overall, 7-1 in Region 10 Division Three. They will return to action Tuesday night with a 6PM match at Davidson-Davie Community College in Thomasville.
Sophomore Greenleigh Gleason (Louisburg, NC) led Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute’s volleyball to two wins on Saturday. She had a total of 18 kills and a hitting percentage of .400.

Sunday: Baseball scrimmage vs. Dry Ponds, Walker Stadium, Lenoir, NC, 1PM. Softball scrimmage at Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, NC, 1PM.
