Watauga Trade Expansion

Watauga Campus: Expanding our workforce across counties

Project Overview & Features

The expansion of the Occupational Training Facility on the Watauga Campus in Boone adds 10,000 sq ft of modern instructional space. This project is specifically designed to meet the local workforce needs in high-wage careers. The new space includes:

  • Top Floor: Two state-of-the-art simulated nursing labs for the college’s nursing programs.

  • Lower Floor: Expanded facilities for construction trades programs, including plumbing, HVAC, and residential wiring.

This facility significantly increases CCC&TI’s capacity to train local students, with most expanded sections beginning in Spring 2026.

Meeting the High Country's Needs

The expansion of the Watauga Campus Occupational Training Facility is a targeted investment designed to close the skills gap in the High Country region. By adding 10,000 square feet of new instructional space, CCC&TI is immediately boosting local capacity in high-demand fields. The new facility will allow us to graduate more highly-skilled professionals in two critical areas: Healthcare and Trades.
